Le vilebrequin Malossi pour le cylindre de 100 cc se compose principalement de deux demi-arbres forgés en acier spécial, usinés sur des machines-outils CNC de haute précision, puis soumis à un traitement thermochimique de cémentation, de trempe et de refroidissement sous zéro dans l'azote. Ce procédé confère aux demi-arbres une dureté et une résistance exceptionnelles, indispensables pour supporter la puissance élevée générée par le cylindre 100 cc.
L'équilibrage du vilebrequin a été conçu et réalisé pour optimiser les performances des moteurs de grande puissance, et permet d'obtenir une dynamique jusqu'à 16 000 tr/min. Un tel équilibrage permet un fonctionnement souple et régulier même à des régimes stratosphériques, ce qui rend le vilebrequin Malossi idéal pour une utilisation racing au plus haut niveau.
Les cages à aiguilles, montées sur l'axe d’accouplement du vilebrequin, sont réalisées avec de rouleaux avec un profil spécial anti-torsion, sélectionnés avec des tolérances de quelques millièmes de millimètre. La cage, en acier argenté, agit comme un élément lubrifiant et anti-usure, pour garantir des performances optimales, même dans des conditions de lubrification réduites.
The Malossi crankshaft for the 100 cc cylinder consists mainly of two forged half-shafts in special steel, machined on high-precision CNC machine tools and then subjected to a thermochemical treatment of case hardening, quenching and sub-zero cooling in nitrogen. This process gives the half-shafts exceptional hardness and strength, essential to support the high power generated by the 100 cc cylinder.
The crankshaft balancing has been designed and built to optimize the performance of high-power engines, and allows dynamics up to 16,000 rpm. This balancing allows smooth and regular operation even at stratospheric speeds, making the Malossi crankshaft ideal for racing use at the highest level.
The needle cages, mounted on the crankshaft coupling shaft, are made with rollers with a special anti-torsion profile, selected with tolerances of a few thousandths of a millimetre. The cage, in silver-plated steel, acts as a lubricating and anti-wear element, to guarantee optimum performance even in reduced lubrication conditions.
