This OEM Adly semicycle key (also called a woodruff key) is a mechanical indexing component used on the crankshaft, as shown in the Crankshaft section of the OEM Adly diagram.
Its function is to:
precisely position a component on the crankshaft
prevent any relative rotation
ensure accurate alignment between the crankshaft and the mounted part (e.g., rotor, flywheel, gear)
The key does not transmit torque on its own:
it serves for proper alignment and positioning before tightening.
