The housing designed to contain the reed valve was considerably modified thanks to the most modern three-dimensional fluid dynamics simulation software that allowed Malossi technicians to find the ideal heights and dimensions.
The automatic mixer and the mechanical water pump have been eliminated to minimize dispersions and the system has been natively predisposed to the Malossi internal rotor ignition. In terms of the chassis, RC-One for Yamaha is intended exclusively for scooters equipped with rear disc brakes as standard and does not provide for the alternative use of shoes. The center distance is increased and with it the stability and precision in turns, while the dimensions of the gear housing have been considerably reduced, by overlapping the gear wheels.
The increase in the center distance and internal diameters made it necessary to use the starter cover intended for Piaggio scooters. All RC-One crankcases for Yamaha are supplied equipped with the necessary components for installation.
In fact, considering the considerable technical differences compared to the series unit, Malossi has decided to include in the package also the reed valve, the covers and a special wheel axle to use the original rear wheel and make RC-One perfectly interchangeable with Yamaha/Minarelli rims and hubs.
