This OEM Adly starter idler gear plate is a retaining and guiding plate used in the starter system, as shown in the Starter category of the OEM Adly diagram.
Its function is to:
maintain the idler gear correctly positioned
control the idler gear's axial play
ensure stable alignment between the starter gears
prevent lateral movement during starting
Even though the part is static, its thickness and flatness are critical for the proper functioning of the entire mechanism.
